Vacancy Research Assistant (Consultant position) at National Foundation for India
NFI invites applications for a Research Assistant (Consultant) for the ongoing Climate
Program, at NFI New Delhi.

The main purpose of the job

We are looking for a dynamic professional who will work on Climate Education and
Knowledge Dissemination Project operational in Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, and
Jharkhand. The project aims to engage with climate change-hit communities and
document/collect/research on local practices for fostering cross-learning among communities
across the states.

Location: New Delhi

Contract Duration: 1 year (extendable)


Salary 45K to 60K (based on qualification & experience) and Medical Insurance

Primary Responsibilities

You will be involved in conducting in-depth research and analysis on climate change impact
and local practices in selected geographies, documentation of local practices and measures,
writing reports, triangulation of findings, and report writing. Your area of focus would be
block/district-level climate change challenges. Coordination with local representatives, local
community leaders, and local administration is an essential part of the job.

Major tasks Involve

1. Community engagement/collaboration and working with CSO’s network.
2. Conceptualizing and strategy building for cross-community dissemination
3. Research, documentation, and collecting information and data from the field.
4. Data analysis and synthesis
5. Collaborate with team members to ensure seamless communication and efficient
workflow. 
6. Handling events, workshops, and field discussions

Key Requirements

1. Master in Ecology/Environment Science/Sociology/Climate Science/Social
Work/Rural Development/Development Studies from premier institutions (preferred)
2. Minimum 3-5 years of work background in research, climate change, and
environmental issues connected with communities.
3. Proficiency in conducting comprehensive literature reviews and synthesizing
information from various sources. 
4. Prior experience working with communities or on the field (Desirable)
5. Strong conceptualization and writing skills in writing, field reports, and periodic
reports
6. Strong work background or understanding of community issues and ability to work on
commensurate policy research.
7. Strong data analysis skills in Adv. Excel, and Visualization tools
8. Prior experience in documentation, field research, and community leadership will be
preferred.
9. Practical skills in quantitative and qualitative research will be crucial.

The overall objective of the position is to facilitate the collection, documentation, and
processing of information and data for cross-community learning and information
dissemination. Your role will encompass working collaboratively with the program team, you
will contribute to building the knowledge repository and community database.

This is a full-time position based out of the NFI office in New Delhi with frequent travel.
