Sindhu Nepolean is an independent journalist based in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala. She writes stories for both Malayalam and English publications predominantly on marginalized communities especially indigenous fisher communities along with other themes like environment, gender, culture, social justice, and education. As part of the fellowship, Sindhu published a series of four detailed stories on the life safety measures available for the traditional fishermen in Kerala in which she provided the history and data of different safety equipment projects, the efficiency of sea rescue corps, and the contemporary realities on the safety of people venturing in the sea.
